Project Overview

  1. Objectives

The main objective of EuroCC is to implement a European support structure based on strongly connected National Competence Centres (NCCs) to support academia, public administration and industry (especially SMEs) to benefit from the advantages of HPC expertise, experience and resources available in Europe.

There is a clear requirement for this to be carried out by only one single point of contact and coordination in each European country (the National Competence Centre) to implement and coordinate all necessary activities at national level.

This includes:

  • the orchestration of existing training organisations, services and activities in the respective nation
  • the development of enhanced and new support activities.
  • clearly defined business models for interacting with different groups of potential customers
  • promotion and awareness-raising at national and international level
  • maximising synergies (exchange of best practices and support) with other European nations

The EuroCC activity will bring together the expertise needed to establish a network of National HPC Competence Centres across Europe in 31 participating, member and associated states to provide a broad portfolio of services tailored to the respective national needs of industry, academia and public administrations. All this to support and strongly enhance national strengths in High Performance Computing (HPC) skills as well as High Performance Data Analytics (HPDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) resources and to close existing gaps to increase the usability of these technologies in the different states and thus provide a European baseline of excellence.
