Panel discussion with the following speakers: João Mendes Moreira, area director of FCCN, FCT's digital services, Eloy Rodrigues, director of documentation and library services at the University of Minho, Johan Rooryck, keynote speaker and executive director of the Coalition, Tiago Villanueva, deputy director and editor-in-chief of Acta Média Portuguesa and João Dias, Science Manager at the João Paulo II library of the Portuguese Catholic University.

2025 edition already confirmed

At the end of the initiative, João Mendes Moreira, Director of the Scientific Knowledge Area at FCCN, FCT's digital services, and Eloy Rodrigues, Director of the Documentation and Library Services at the University of Minho, took stock of this first meeting, which, according to both of them, proved to be necessary and exceeded expectations. They also announced the second edition of the initiative, in 2025, the date and other information of which will be announced shortly.

"In view of the success of this event and after consulting with my colleagues on the organizing committee, I am pleased to announce that we will have a new edition," announced João Mendes Moreira at the closing session of the 1st PUB IN Meeting.

Eloy Rodrigues thanked "everyone who took part in this event, which was very well attended. You can feel that we're reaching a new community, with new energy and lots of questions". He added: "We had more than 120 people present and that's another sign that this event was needed."

The period for expressions of interest to host the initiative in 2025 is now open

At the end of the meeting, João Mendes Moreira launched a challenge to potential entities that could host the meeting next year: "also given the fact that we don't like to hold centralized events, institutions are asked to express their interest in hosting this event". Interested institutions should contact info@pubin.pt to find out about all the benefits and conditions for hosting the meeting in 2025.
