Safer Internet Day is celebrated on February 11, this year under the theme "Education for Digital Citizenship". The Safer Internet Center Consortium, made up of the Foundation for Science and Technology(FCT), through the digital services unit FCCNcelebrates the 22nd edition of this event with the national event in Aveiro.

The initiative dedicates the morning to encouraging safer, more ethical and more conscious use of the digital environment, through Thematic Workshops for children and young people from the 1st cycle up to the age of 25.

In the afternoon, the Seminar which brings together guests from the field of education to discuss the challenges and opportunities of digital citizenship and the training of citizens to use the digital environment critically, ethically and responsibly.

The seminar is free and open to the whole community, subject to prior registration. To ensure your attendance, all those interested should fill in the form on the website.

The event is part of the "European Year of Education for Digital Citizenship" initiative, which will take place in 2025, promoted by the Council of Europe, with a view to reinforcing the importance of this theme in responding to future digital challenges and opportunities.
