Open Science is scientific activity carried out in an open, collaborative and transparent way, facilitating the sharing and communication of processes and results. With the aim of raising awareness and promoting Open Science practices among the community of researchers, science managers, students and the general public, FCCN, the digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology, is promoting this online event on October 25 at 10:00 am. 

The webinar "Open Science in Expansion: New Models, Evaluation and Open Data" is part of the celebrations for International Open Science Week and will include a review of what has been achieved in this field to date, as well as news and some indicators. The session will also cover New Models of Scientific Communication, the Diamond Initiative, and the National Program for Open Science and Open Research Data, a measure integrated into investmentRE-C05-i08 - Ciência Mais Digital financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), as well as the theme of Research Assessment.  

Several members of FCT's Open Science team will be joining the initiative, from the digital services unit FCCN. The FCT representative on the COARA National Chapter will also be present.

The 2023 edition 

This initiative also took place in 2023, and several participants gave their opinion on it: "It's very important that they maintain and even increase these sessions." and "Thank you for the opportunity to ask questions and for them all to be answered" were some of the feedbacks shared.
