EuroHPC JU has opened a new application opportunity for regular access to its state-of-the-art supercomputers. Deucalion is on the list of available resources.

The fastest Portuguese supercomputer ever, which is managed by the Foundation for Science and Technology and currently supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), is among the resources available. This is joined by seven others, including MareNostrum 5, which also has Portuguese participation and PRR support.

Projects that require time and large amounts of computing resources can apply for and access one of these available high-performance computing solutions.

Who can apply

Researchers from all over Europe can apply to use computational resources to boost their research and innovation projects. This call is aimed at all fields of science, industry and the public sector.

Proposals can be submitted through three different channels:

  • Scientific access: applications from academia and public research institutes;
  • Access to the industrial sector: applications with principal investigators from the industrial sector;
  • Access to Public Administration: applications with principal investigators from the public sector.

It is also expected that the projects in the competition will have a high impact in their area of application, which should justify the need for large appropriations in terms of computing time, data storage and support resources.

Proposals must be submitted by September 6th

Anyone wishing to boost their research using world-class computing power should submit their proposals by September 6, 2024.

More information on access conditions and the application process can be found at https://eurohpc-ju.europa.eu/eurohpc-ju-call-proposals-regular-access-mode_en.
