The 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award is coming up and everyone is invited. Prepare your project to compete in the initiative that annually honors the most innovative works that use the information preserved in the Arquivo.pt service. Applications open in January and run until May 6, 2025.   

Those interested in competing in the 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Prize must submit a work on a topic of their choice, either in groups or individually, whose main source of information was Arquivo.pt, FCT's digital service, developed through FCCN. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to travel back in time.  

Three Awards and four Honorable Mentions  

The person responsible for the work that comes 1st in the 2025 edition of the Arquivo.pt Prize will receive a prize of €10,000. Second place on the podium gets a prize of €3,000. And the 3rd place winner receives a prize of €2,000 

As in previous editions, the Arquivo.pt Prize 2025 will also award several honorable mentions. For the first time, the 50 Years of April 25 Commemorative Commission is honoring a work that uses Arquivo.pt to address the theme "April 25 and Democracy", with a prize of €5,000. 

The Aveiro Media Competence Center (AMCC) Consortium is responsible for awarding projects focused on Portuguese online media , accompanied by a prize of €500. 

The DNS.pt (.PT) Association is rewarding teachers who encourage their students to do work using Arquivo.pt. The winner of the category receives a check for 1900€ to buy a laptop. 

Público newspaper, the initiative's media partner, honors the works focused on the contents of this publication, preserved in Arquivo.pt. Those chosen are rewarded with a two-year subscription to Público online.  

The initiative once again has the high patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic
