In early 2022, Arquivo.pt launched a new version that included a new service - SavePageNow. Through this tool, anyone can save a webpage to be preserved by Arquivo.pt. To do so, they only need to enter the page's address and browse through its contents.
This new service from Arquivo.pt was inspired in a project created by the Internet Archive, allowing all Internet users to contribute to the preservation of important information that is published online .You can learn more about this service from the Arquivo.pt online.
Another service launched in 2022 by Arquivo.pt seeks to answer another need - to offer a solution to "Error 404 - Page not found" messages that may appear in any website. Through arquivo404, this problem can be easily solved by inserting a single line of code in the page that generates the error message.
Thanks to this solution, when a user tries to access a page that is not available on a website, arquivo404 "automatically checks if there is a preserved version of that page," explains Arquivo.pt, on its website. If such a version exists, a link to it is presented.
